The bridge over the Seguin River east of South Seguin Estates Road has been closed the entire year. They have, however, fixed the washout on the west bank. I checked out the bridge which they have chained off on both sides, and it doesn't seem to need too much work. It has a small hole near the edge of the bridge and could easily allow atv traffic. They haven't made any effort to fix it, but you can bet it will magically repaired just before snowmobile season. Things like this make me really want to run out and get a summer trail pass.

I just finished another week of vacation ending with Labour day. Of course, the bridge was in the same condition as before. But wait, they nailed an extra piece of vintage, weathered, used 2x6 across the bridge to thwart people from going under the chain barrier. It doesn't matter anyway, my son and I just followed the well worn path down the embankment, across the river and up the other side.

I made another trip to the Seguin bridge on October 21st and it has been torn out and unceremonially dumped in the woods just west of it's previous home. Just as I had predicted, they started work on the bridge just for the snowmobilers. I'm sure it will be completed by December 1st when the snowmobilers get exclusive motorized use of the trail. Yes, I know the sledders pay big bucks for trail passes but I wonder how much gets to the Park to Park people to pay for maintenance. I would imagine that all the ATVers that bought summer passes would be happy to know that the money they paid was saved to the end of the season to benefit the snowmobilers. Shit, being an ATVer and buying a trail pass is like being in a Union. Pay your dues and get sweet-dick-all in return. Maybe next year they should save their money. </endrant>
