Explore the railway corridor
Pan and zoom along the western end of the former Ottawa, Arnprior & Parry Sound Railway. On desktop, hover over a point for its name and click to open its story. On a phone, tap a marker for a large information card. Satellite imagery and your own location can be switched on when useful.
Map notes: Historical layers are now tiled and served locally by SeguinTrail.ca from Borealis georeferenced NTS sheets 41 H/8, 31 E/5 and 31 E/6. Because archival availability varies by year, some views are intentionally mixed-year mosaics: the 1956 view combines 41 H/8 and 31 E/5; 1960 covers 31 E/5 and 31 E/6; 1966 is a standalone 41 H/8 ASE view; 1973–74 combines 31 E/5 (1973) with 31 E/6 (1974); 1985 currently contains only 31 E/5; 1996–99 combines 41 H/8 (1999) with 31 E/5 and 31 E/6 (1996); and 2009–10 combines 41 H/8 (2010) with 31 E/5 and 31 E/6 (2009). The early half-sheets are individually trimmed inside their printed map frames before being assigned to their exact half-sheet extents, stitched and tiled. This removes the remaining title strips, thick rules and centre paper gutters while keeping the high-resolution local detail. Use Map information to see exactly which source sheet or sheets are behind the layer you are viewing. The Modern base automatically uses the locally cached Natural Resources Canada CBMT corridor tiles once the cache builder has completed; until then it safely falls back to the existing online map. Satellite imagery remains intentionally external. Use the opacity slider on a historical layer to compare the old map with the modern base underneath. All SeguinTrail.ca markers, route overlays, photographs and historical content remain site-controlled. “Show my location” uses the browser's geolocation permission and does not send your position to SeguinTrail.ca. Access and reconstructed markers remain approximate where specifically labelled.
